Just days after Netflix launched in Kenya and 129 other countries, Wananchi group which runs Zuku fiber venture which comes as a triple package for its subscribers
is set to increase its internet price by 50 percent effective from February 15th 2016.
Zuku also plan to increase customer speeds by 50% where if a customer was on a 10 Mbps Link, they will now have a 15 Mbps link. To watch Netflix, Kenyans will have to pay more money than ussual even though everyone expects the firm to lower prices as its customers increase in the country.
The increase will however translate into a price increment for customers on various tiers of between Kshs. 200 and 2,000. The new price comes just few months after Zuku launched WIMAX in Nairobi, a product that was well received in the market.
As the only provider of three-one package service which include cable TV,Internet and telephone through a single fiber connection, they have realized an increase in customer base. The high number of customers in their services have also resulted into slow speeds which did not go down well with its customers resulting into numerous complains forcing the company to launch a campaign dubbed “My Zuku Fiber Story” aplatform where Zuku customers could freely share their personal testimonials about the Zuku product experiences.
